For whom?
Children and adolescents
An orthodontic consultation is recommended between the age of five and twelve years old. Early consultations enable the detection of problems that—if left undetected—could result in significant problems later on. They therefore limit the risks and consequences of dental trauma ensuring good long-term stability, as well as obviating the need for more complex treatment.

This could include adults who have never received treatment before and who have chewing disorders and/or dental disorders, and adults who received treatment during their adolescence but who have gone on to experience a recurrence of a previous orthodontic issue.
Why?
The alignment of overlapped teeth facilitates their cleaning when brushing, improves the incision function for cutting food and enhances the smile.
The correction of the positions of the upper and lower teeth on the respective jaws, as well as the correction of the ratio between the jaws themselves, results in effective chewing and also resolves some digestive problems.
The inability of the upper and lower teeth to fit together correctly is referred to as dental malocclusion. The tension generated in the joint between the jaws and temples may cause teeth grinding, pain, tooth erosion or eventual intense headaches.
As well as correcting alignment problems, orthodontics helps to restore a well-balanced smile that is consistent with the patient’s physiognomy.
