Chez 236 patients, 528 implants (264 TPS et 264 SLA) ont \u00e9t\u00e9 pos\u00e9s, dont 351 (66,5 %) dans la r\u00e9gion post\u00e9rieure, et 71,1 % des implants mesuraient \u2264 11 mm. Dans la mandibule et le maxillaire post\u00e9rieurs, la longueur moyenne des implants \u00e9tait respectivement de 9,90 mm et 9,74 mm. La longueur des implants a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9termin\u00e9e uniquement par radiographies standards. L\u2019augmentation du nombre d\u2019implants ou la r\u00e9duction de la largeur ou de la longueur des restaurations n\u2019\u00e9taient pas sp\u00e9cifiquement recherch\u00e9es pour les implants plus courts. Cent vingt-deux implants SLA ont \u00e9t\u00e9 charg\u00e9s en moins de 63 jours. Tous les implants SLA charg\u00e9s pr\u00e9cocement ont r\u00e9sist\u00e9 au couple de serrage de 35 N\u00b7cm sans rotation ni douleur. Trois implants ont \u00e9chou\u00e9 (un pr\u00e9coce et deux tardifs), tous \u00e9taient des implants SLA pos\u00e9s dans la mandibule. Les implants courts n\u2019ont pas pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 plus d\u2019\u00e9checs que les implants longs. Le taux de succ\u00e8s cumul\u00e9 \u00e9tait de 99,40 %. L\u2019utilisation pr\u00e9visible des implants courts supportant des couronnes unitaires et de petites proth\u00e8ses fixes partielles de 2 \u00e0 4 unit\u00e9s soutenues par deux \u00e0 trois implants a permis (1) de limiter la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 de proc\u00e9dures pr\u00e9chirurgicales sophistiqu\u00e9es et co\u00fbteuses visant \u00e0 d\u00e9terminer pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment la hauteur osseuse disponible par des m\u00e9thodes radiographiques informatis\u00e9es, (2) la pose de restaurations proth\u00e9tiquement guid\u00e9es plut\u00f4t que chirurgicalement guid\u00e9es, (3) de r\u00e9duire les indications pour des proc\u00e9dures complexes et invasives comme le comblement sinusien et les greffes osseuses, (4) de faciliter la chirurgie sans chercher \u00e0 poser l\u2019implant le plus long possible, et (5) d\u2019\u00e9viter l\u2019apparition de troubles sensitifs.
