Abstract<\/strong><\/p>\n

Chemical modification to a sand-blasted, acid-etched (SLA) implant surface has been shown to enhance the rate of osseointegration. The goal of the present study was to examine changes in stability for implants with the chemically modified surface, and to compare their outcome to control implants. A randomized controlled trial was conducted with 31 patients, each patient receiving two implants having the same physical properties, but with one having the standard SLA surface (control) and one with the modified surface (test).<\/p>\n
