Abstract

ABSTRACT A careful diagnosis and a multidisciplinary approach are essential to achieve a satisfactory outcome for both the “white aesthetics” and the “pink aesthetics” in anterior rehabilitation cases. “White aesthetics” refers to the natural appearance of the final restorations made with appropriate materials, while “pink aesthetics” concerns the surrounding soft tissues, including the interdental papilla and gingival contour. One of the main goals of aesthetic dentistry is to achieve stability and symmetry of the gingival tissue around the prosthetic rehabilitation. The risk of gingival recession, with exposure of the restoration margin, is considered one of the most common problems in this clinical situation. Bone loss can also affect the aesthetics of the interproximal area, causing apical migration of the soft tissues and the formation of a black triangle.
